Put down the Porterhouse!!!

Heyyy,
I posted on FaceBook, a little rant about a Vegetarianism Challenge! There are lots of angry meat eaters not happy about this. Okay, not really. But there were some Carnivorous Comments (one from my self of course, hey the challenge hasn't started yet:).
So, the challenge begins Sept 30th til October 30th! No meat, No flesh (ew..), No seafood, No poultry. Yes, some wines are filtered with animal protein. Don't stop being your wino self! This challenge is not meant to be super strict! If you're having a "meat breakdown" by all means have a slice of filet mignon, with a glass of Chianti, and some fava beans. Yum...
This challenge is much like those mud runs and those crazy cross fit workouts. When you complete it, you have a feeling of accomplishment! When you complete it with a group, you have that feeling of awesome-fun, camaraderie (exchanging veggie recipes, veggie meal plans, veggie products, telling your friend to "put down the porterhouse and leave the steakhouse... now!").

So, let's do the challenge. What do you have to lose? Weight, of course! When you spend the first week struggling... because you just don't know what to eat, you'll definitely lose some pounds. Don't get me wrong I enjoy some camaraderie and feelings of accomplishment, but let's get back to the real picture here... the bottom line... to melt the tummy!!!
Tummy Melt!!!

veggietox.

P.S. Be a safe vegetarian, do your research, eat ya vitamins (some people worry about a vitamin B-12 deficiency. Because B-12 is not found in plants. Eat ya eggs, dairy, if lactose... take a supplement.) I'm not a doctor, but I play one on TV!
So listen to me when I say "be safe!"

September Anew!

Well, welcome September 2013 !
In the age of mud runs, bootcamp style workouts, and crazy intense up & down fit... cross fit, any whichway fit workouts. There is a high percentage of people that truly want to be fit. I do! And I've wrestled with some of those tigers. Most of these workouts challenge your stamina, your psychological health, and workout your entire body.
I do want all of this in a workout!
But my main thing, IS THE TUMMY!!!
And that's why we're here...
We're here to melt the tummy...
TUMMY MELT! (okay enough with the name plugging:) Those of you who know me, I'm six-pack obsessed. I've been that way for a while (hence the start date of this blog and all of the infomercial abdominal contraptions under my bed). I proudly admit, I'm a "start/stopper". I start a workout plan, then I stop, then I start again... I've tried the "insanity" workout three times, never completed it :( But don't let that discourage you from following me. Hehe:)
I got good workout plans. Hey, if I don't complete them, you can, and you'll see great results. Besides, I'm not terribly out of shape... maybe its all the "start/stopping" workouts:) My goal is to cut it up, my workout plans will touch upon the entire body, but will absolutely focus on the... what?  what...The Tummy!!!

Well, Its a new month, what a perfect time to start anew! So join me in this journey, this six-pack adventure. Let's do IT.

...I KNOW...

Hi...
Do you still love me?

Well I've been working out, but not enough to post about (or maybe it has been enough?).
I started going for bike rides 2-3 times a week. And doing abdominal exercises every other day. I started May 1st. Sorry, you should have been included. I know...

I broke down and bought a workout DVD, I'm just too lazy (busy and ill motivated) to keep coming up with my own workout plans. Ugh.

So, I recommend this DVD :)
"Basic Ab Workout/ For Dummies" with fitness professional Gay Gasper. (O,what a name:) It's a great DVD, one of my favs so far! It really breaks it down and explains it All. I love it! Just listen to Gay and you can't go wrong.

I do the entire Basic Ab workout, from warm up to the final stretch. Or if time is of the essence I do the 10 minute Fast-Track.

And I bike for Cardio! About 30mins, more if it's a lovely day. I want to put some running in there, but that hasn't happened yet. (But I bought running and new workout gear! Yay!)

June 5th is going to be the day we start together... I Know...

This should give you plenty of time to get your gear.
Workout clothes.
Workout and Running Shoes.
The Basic Ab Workout DVD.
A Bike.
Etc.

I promise we'll work it out. I've been doing it since May 1st. Let's do it together June 5th.
Thanks again for your time.

peace.

Ahhhhhh....

It's been since Tuesday, March 22, since I posted.
It was March 27th that I said I would start anew.
And I was suppose to go Carb-Free for a week starting April 4th.

Haha... I'm so crazy.

I need to figure it out and think of my next move before I post empty promises!!!

I'm gonna go dine at one of my favorite restaurants (Frog and the Peach) and ponder about my cheesecake pouch, and who knows I may even have dessert.

peace!

DID YOU MISS ME?

Probably not... Excuse me while I have a much deserved insecure moment.
I will not mention how long I've been away, these postings are dated, you do the math!

Sorry, I don't mean to get angry at you. It's my fault, I'm the slacker who's been slacking. !But, wait I can get angry at you... because you are suppose to be my motivators, my friend, and a confidant. That's golden :)

Anyway, I'm back, but it's Tuesday, and I like to start on Sunday. So :) I will start anew on Sunday, March 27th, and if I miss Sunday, then I will start Monday, because technically Sunday is the day of rest... and blah, blah, blah... you know me so well.

peace.

P.S. Oh, and a great dancer friend (although, I've never seen her dance) told me that my "cheesecake pouch" aka "the tummy" is just a ball/pouch of stress and carbs. So, I must take that advice! Monday, April 4th kicks off Carb-Free week!

...and that's what it's all about!

For all of you new followers!
I know you what to skip through the posts and get all of the tummy melting magic secrets and goodness of a GLORIOUS SIX-PACK!
I wish I could give you a guide, so you could skip through all of the trials and tribulations and dear diary-esque jargon.

But I most certainly will not! Hey, sorry! But, that's what a blog is all about!

Read it all, and enjoy :)

New WO, No Food Regiment... yet...

It's been awhile..
I'm all done with that yucky detox, sorry to have to put you through that.
Now we can, move on.
Your work out for this week is changing... again. We're gonna just modify last weeks workout... again.

But still no sign of a daily food intake regiment for this week.

Add a Leg Scissor Lift after the basic crunch. And now we'll call this Work Out SuperStarter++

Leg Scissor Lift= Abs engaged. Back on floor. Hands and arms at your side. Legs straight. Lift right leg about 3-4 inches off ground, then lift left leg to meet right leg. Slowly lower left leg to floor, slowly lower right leg to floor. Then lift both legs together (about 3-4 inches off ground) and slowly lower to floor. And scissor, and lift. Up right leg, up left, down left leg, down right leg, up both legs, down both legs= One Count. Exhale as you lift legs. Do three sets of ten reps.

SuperStarter++ Workout:

1st- Twist.
2nd- Toe Touch/Sky High Five.
3rd- Twist.
4th- Bicycle.
5th- Basic Crunch.
6th- Leg Scissor Lift.
7th- Twist.
8th- Toe Touch/Sky High Five.

peace out. tox out.

The things we do for cleanliness.

So, the SuperStarter+ WO and the Detox is going...

The whole detox kit stuff is SO Yucky! Well the "toxic defense" packet that you swish in your mouth is just plain weird. The "organ detox" capsules are big and clumsy, gag. And it took all of my strength, all of my might, to drink the "digestion & elimination" powder mix at night. Did I say yucky! And it's green and gritty!
All that yuck for just two poop plobs, this morning. I know TMI.
Anyway, it's still early.

Detox Day...

Question of the day:
Is a detox day dangerous when your aunt Flo is visiting? Nah, I doubt it... just go with the flow. Hehe...

I wanted to change the workout plan, (but... in a nutshell, I got lazy. Can't blame time, right. I work like 50 some hours a week, party maybe 14 hours every other week, work out like 2 hours a week, and do creative writing many, many hours a day :) Oh, I guess I can blame time! Time is, of the essence!)

But, there is one thing I want to add to the SuperStarter Work Out.
Add a basic crunch after the Bicycle. And now we'll call this Work Out SuperStarter+

Basic Crunch=
Abs engaged. Back on floor. Hands on side of head. Knees bent, feet on floor. Lift shoulder blades off floor (use your abs), as if trying to bring chest towards your feet. And crunch. And slowly lower shoulders back to floor. Exhale on the crunch. Do three sets of ten reps.

SuperStarter+ Workout:

1st- Twist.
2nd- Toe Touch/Sky High Five.
3rd- Twist.
4th- Bicycle.
5th- Basic Crunch.
6th- Twist.
7th- Toe Touch/Sky High Five.

A night with Oscar.

I was watching an infomercial this morning (Ab Coaster) and I was thinking, if this was a year ago, I would have bought it. Just like that! I was so ab obsessed (still am), but now I know that I can get beautiful-bodacious-glorious six pack abs at home... with barely any equipment. And it's basically free!

Tonight is the 83rd Annual Academy Awards.. So go to a party, watch the awards show, and gorge yourself... because we starve ourselves starting Monday. Just kidding!

But we do start our cleansing and detoxification program. So, although there will be no strict daily food intake regiment this week. Eat old school, eat your three big meals daily. And it is very important not to skip meals, the detoxification program consists of a three step formula of: packets, capsules, and powders. The program highly recommends that you take them with food. So eat up! And poop your hearts out. Haha... Just kidding!

It's Saturday... do you know where your workout is?

Ha! It has been a successful week for the SuperStarter Workout Plan.
I must tell you that I have did this workout every single day. And I am sore! I'm thinking we will do the same next week? Hmmm. I haven't decided yet.

But, we will definitely and finally start the "Raw Cleanse" which is the ultimate standard in cleansing and detoxification. Again, as I stated in previous posts... the brand name is Garden of Life and it's a fast acting (but not blow yur butt:) 7 day, triple detox formula. It supports healthy elimination and bowel health. Okay, okay I'm done. So go out and buy your detox today (you can find it at your local drug stores or health food stores), because we will definitely and finally start it Monday-February the 28th.

Ouchy McOucherson

My hamstrings are killing me so, I now have the swagger of an orangutan.
And I feel like someone shanked me in the obliques, in the prison courtyard. Ouch. Ouch! Anyways. I now say take it slow (to feel the stretch) and bend your knees a little, when doing the Toe Touch/Sky High Five move. It will relieve the stress and pull you put on your hamstrings, so you don't get hamstrung!

peace.

The idea behind my new workout.

Okay, so the SuperStarter Work Out is my creation.
I wanted something easy and simple to ease into. I definitely started this blog with some extreme big time goals with too many rules and other things to think about... ahh, that just frustrated me and made me give up too fast. So I chose to start out easy, like Sunday morning :)
Of course as you read in previous post. The SuperStarter Work Out consist of:

1st- Twist.
2nd- Toe Touch/Sky High Five.
3rd- Twist.
4th- Bicycle.
5th- Twist.
6th- Toe Touch/Sky High Five.

I chose the Twist, because I love to hate this move (you'll see), and it hurts a little. But I can feel it working my upper abs and obliques. This move will definitely trim your sides and give ya that cut down the center, that will keep your packs in place. And the faster you do it... you also get a cardio workout.

The Toe Touch/Sky High Five is something I came up with one morning while messing around. We all remember toe touches in grade school gym class. I wanted something a little more fun, so I modified it a lota bit. This move will tone your abs at the bend and give you a nice ssstretchhh... nice. Really reach for the sky on this one, trust me this stretch will soothe those abs. And also the faster you do it... you can get a cardio workout... and a cool breeze.

And the Bicycle is a classic move. I recommend starting the first set slow and controlled and then speed it up (for a cardio workout, of course). This move will tone your entire abdominals. You might even get a nice quad workout from this move.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Remember, drink plenty of water during and/or after this workout.
I have not yet timed this workout, I'm guessing it should take 20-25 minutes, but it doesn't matter how long it takes for ya. Just do all of the sets! Take your time. And enjoy!

Thank You.

Ready, Set, Go (A new start.) The new work out plan!

Okay, are you all still with me?

This workout plan starts tomorrow morning (2/21/11).
It's called the SuperStarter Workout (aka SSWO), it is a simple at home WO that combines AB workout & Cardio & Stretching all in one. It's easy & fast and it's perfect, well I think so. This workout will seem a bit on the bore side, but we will not move on to something else until we have determination and dedication and, and ahhh, it's just really a form of punishment for not being able to stick to this tummy melting adventure! There, I said it... but you were thinking it!
But, truly I am sincerely excited about this new work out! Here goes.

SuperStarter Workout:

1st- Twist.
2nd- Toe Touch/Sky High Five.
3rd- Twist.
4th- Bicycle.
5th- Twist.
6th- Toe Touch/Sky High Five.

1st- Twist= Abs engaged. Stand with legs shoulder width apart, bend knees a little. Arms curled, in front of chest, arms also shoulder width apart. And twist. Twist torso left to right. All while keeping head still and keeping feet planted. And Twist at a moderate speed. Twist to the Left and to the Right =count one. Exhale when to the left or right. Inhale in the center. Do three sets of twenty reps.

2nd- Toe Touch/Sky High Five=
Abs engaged. Stand with legs a little more than shoulder width apart. Legs straight, don't bend knees. Arms straight out to sides (airplane like). Bend at waist, while taking right hand to touch left toe. All the while left arm and hand are reaching up for the sky. And up, into airplane like pose. Then bend at waist again, this time taking left hand to touch right toe. All the while right arm and hand are reaching up for the sky. Then while still in stance. Back into airplane pose. Reach right arm and hand diagonally into sky towards the left side, as if high fiving the sky. All the while left arm and hand goes out behind. And back to airplane pose. Next reach left arm and hand diagonally into sky towards the right side, as if high fiving the sky. All the while right arm and hand goes out behind. (For more of a stretch, your head and gaze can follow the arm) And back to airplane pose. Now start from the beginning. And alternate, and alternate. Left toe touch =one count, right toe touch =two count. Left sky high five =three count, right sky high five =count four.... Exhale at the bend. Inhale at the airplane pose. Exhale at the high five reach. Inhale at the air plane pose. Do three sets of forty reps.

3rd- Twist. Same as above.

4th- Bicycle=
Abs engaged. Back on floor. Hands on side of head. Shoulder blades off floor. Legs up and off ground. Knees at about a 45 degree angle. Right elbow to your left knee. Extend leg... Then left elbow to your right knee. Extend leg... all while keeping legs off ground (doing a pedal like motion).Elbow to the right knee =count one. Elbow to the left knee =count two. Exhale with each elbow to knee touch. Inhale on the leg extension. Do three sets of twenty reps.

5th- Twist.
Same as above.

6th- Toe Touch/Sky High Five. Same as above.

That's the new SuperStarter Work Out! Do this all week!
Don't worry about your daily food intake until next week. Just Work it Out!

okay, so... your Monday (wait, actually your whole week) should look like this:
*Wake up.
*Sun Salutation (always, everyday, always do as soon as you awake).
(for directions check the Tues. Jan. 25, 2011 post titled "Week 1 Day 2")
*Take a couple swigs of water (also drink plenty of water during and after WO).
*Do yur SuperStarter Work Out.
*Eat a post-work out food bar (as in previous post: "I recommend nourishing food bars with 50-75 carbs, 10-25g protein. Get anything by: Odwalla, Kind, Luna, gnu Foods, Nutri-Grain, Kashi TLC, Clif, Powerbars, etc...").
*And... start your day.
REMEMBER always engage your ABs (meaning keep stomach/abs in and up) all day long.
REMEMBER always drink lots and lots of water and green tea all day long.

Simple. Dimple.

P.S. Remember to always consult a physician before starting any workout plan.

Oops!

...oops, I cheated and worked out yesterday... sorry. I know we were suppose to be on break. Anywho. A few days ago, I was lying in my bed (after eating a greasy-yummy sandwich and fries:) and I ran my hand across my tummy... and wow, I realized that I was developing something under my tummy... could it be a glorious six pack? (well, a two pack so far). Maybe something glorious is happening, so you see way I was eager to work out... I didn't want to lose that... plus, I kinda missed working out. Even though it can be boring at times. (I so contradict myself) And then concentrating on my daily intake, whew. It's hard work!

Ah well, it's time to change up our work out plan. (And again postpone the detox cleanse, I just want your body to be use to a steady workout, before ya detox, ok.)

To be continued...

Fresh!

Okay, I thought about it, I'm not focused!

Take the rest of this week off.

We start fresh, 2/21/11...

Pondering on a wonderful day...

...here I sit drinking a 20 year old Tawny Port and eating chocolate. Yes, I'm pre-gaming at my place. Well an adult form of pre-gaming...we call it an aperitif... when it's sounds fancy it takes a little away from the fact that we're drinking at home alone, before going out to drink later with friends.
Anyway, I had a good day off so far. I banged out some laundry, had an acupuncture experience, met a sweet doggie named Jackson (we must meet again, and wrestle:), ate Greek, had a great nap.... and wow... it's been an all too pleasing day off, so far.

No worries in life. Just wondering where am I going with this blog! Tomorrow, I will post our next move. Peace & Thanks for coming along...
