I have been doing extensive research on this melting matter. Along with a few quirky ideas, I truly believe melting magic can happen. Tummy Melt! You say... quite a title. It's just the first thing that came to my mind. What better way to conquer a goal... to have people watching, commenting, and cheering you on! Follow my blog. Follow my lead. Be my tummy melting-mates. And at the finish line, let's lift our shirts, and expose our melted tummies. Let's expose our glorious six-packs!

Detox Day...
Question of the day:
Is a detox day dangerous when your aunt Flo is visiting? Nah, I doubt it... just go with the flow. Hehe...
I wanted to change the workout plan, (but... in a nutshell, I got lazy. Can't blame time, right. I work like 50 some hours a week, party maybe 14 hours every other week, work out like 2 hours a week, and do creative writing many, many hours a day :) Oh, I guess I can blame time! Time is, of the essence!)
But, there is one thing I want to add to the SuperStarter Work Out.
Add a basic crunch after the Bicycle. And now we'll call this Work Out SuperStarter+
Basic Crunch= Abs engaged. Back on floor. Hands on side of head. Knees bent, feet on floor. Lift shoulder blades off floor (use your abs), as if trying to bring chest towards your feet. And crunch. And slowly lower shoulders back to floor. Exhale on the crunch. Do three sets of ten reps.
SuperStarter+ Workout:
1st- Twist.
2nd- Toe Touch/Sky High Five.
3rd- Twist.
4th- Bicycle.
5th- Basic Crunch.
6th- Twist.
7th- Toe Touch/Sky High Five.

A night with Oscar.
I was watching an infomercial this morning (Ab Coaster) and I was thinking, if this was a year ago, I would have bought it. Just like that! I was so ab obsessed (still am), but now I know that I can get beautiful-bodacious-glorious six pack abs at home... with barely any equipment. And it's basically free!
Tonight is the 83rd Annual Academy Awards.. So go to a party, watch the awards show, and gorge yourself... because we starve ourselves starting Monday. Just kidding!
But we do start our cleansing and detoxification program. So, although there will be no strict daily food intake regiment this week. Eat old school, eat your three big meals daily. And it is very important not to skip meals, the detoxification program consists of a three step formula of: packets, capsules, and powders. The program highly recommends that you take them with food. So eat up! And poop your hearts out. Haha... Just kidding!

It's Saturday... do you know where your workout is?
Ha! It has been a successful week for the SuperStarter Workout Plan.
I must tell you that I have did this workout every single day. And I am sore! I'm thinking we will do the same next week? Hmmm. I haven't decided yet.
But, we will definitely and finally start the "Raw Cleanse" which is the ultimate standard in cleansing and detoxification. Again, as I stated in previous posts... the brand name is Garden of Life and it's a fast acting (but not blow yur butt:) 7 day, triple detox formula. It supports healthy elimination and bowel health. Okay, okay I'm done. So go out and buy your detox today (you can find it at your local drug stores or health food stores), because we will definitely and finally start it Monday-February the 28th.

Ouchy McOucherson
My hamstrings are killing me so, I now have the swagger of an orangutan.
And I feel like someone shanked me in the obliques, in the prison courtyard. Ouch. Ouch! Anyways. I now say take it slow (to feel the stretch) and bend your knees a little, when doing the Toe Touch/Sky High Five move. It will relieve the stress and pull you put on your hamstrings, so you don't get hamstrung!
peace.

The idea behind my new workout.
Okay, so the SuperStarter Work Out is my creation.
I wanted something easy and simple to ease into. I definitely started this blog with some extreme big time goals with too many rules and other things to think about... ahh, that just frustrated me and made me give up too fast. So I chose to start out easy, like Sunday morning :)
Of course as you read in previous post. The SuperStarter Work Out consist of:
1st- Twist.
2nd- Toe Touch/Sky High Five.
3rd- Twist.
4th- Bicycle.
5th- Twist.
6th- Toe Touch/Sky High Five.
I chose the Twist, because I love to hate this move (you'll see), and it hurts a little. But I can feel it working my upper abs and obliques. This move will definitely trim your sides and give ya that cut down the center, that will keep your packs in place. And the faster you do it... you also get a cardio workout.
The Toe Touch/Sky High Five is something I came up with one morning while messing around. We all remember toe touches in grade school gym class. I wanted something a little more fun, so I modified it a lota bit. This move will tone your abs at the bend and give you a nice ssstretchhh... nice. Really reach for the sky on this one, trust me this stretch will soothe those abs. And also the faster you do it... you can get a cardio workout... and a cool breeze.
And the Bicycle is a classic move. I recommend starting the first set slow and controlled and then speed it up (for a cardio workout, of course). This move will tone your entire abdominals. You might even get a nice quad workout from this move.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Remember, drink plenty of water during and/or after this workout.
I have not yet timed this workout, I'm guessing it should take 20-25 minutes, but it doesn't matter how long it takes for ya. Just do all of the sets! Take your time. And enjoy!
Thank You.

Ready, Set, Go (A new start.) The new work out plan!
Okay, are you all still with me?
This workout plan starts tomorrow morning (2/21/11).
It's called the SuperStarter Workout (aka SSWO), it is a simple at home WO that combines AB workout & Cardio & Stretching all in one. It's easy & fast and it's perfect, well I think so. This workout will seem a bit on the bore side, but we will not move on to something else until we have determination and dedication and, and ahhh, it's just really a form of punishment for not being able to stick to this tummy melting adventure! There, I said it... but you were thinking it!
But, truly I am sincerely excited about this new work out! Here goes.
SuperStarter Workout:
1st- Twist.
2nd- Toe Touch/Sky High Five.
3rd- Twist.
4th- Bicycle.
5th- Twist.
6th- Toe Touch/Sky High Five.
1st- Twist= Abs engaged. Stand with legs shoulder width apart, bend knees a little. Arms curled, in front of chest, arms also shoulder width apart. And twist. Twist torso left to right. All while keeping head still and keeping feet planted. And Twist at a moderate speed. Twist to the Left and to the Right =count one. Exhale when to the left or right. Inhale in the center. Do three sets of twenty reps.
2nd- Toe Touch/Sky High Five= Abs engaged. Stand with legs a little more than shoulder width apart. Legs straight, don't bend knees. Arms straight out to sides (airplane like). Bend at waist, while taking right hand to touch left toe. All the while left arm and hand are reaching up for the sky. And up, into airplane like pose. Then bend at waist again, this time taking left hand to touch right toe. All the while right arm and hand are reaching up for the sky. Then while still in stance. Back into airplane pose. Reach right arm and hand diagonally into sky towards the left side, as if high fiving the sky. All the while left arm and hand goes out behind. And back to airplane pose. Next reach left arm and hand diagonally into sky towards the right side, as if high fiving the sky. All the while right arm and hand goes out behind. (For more of a stretch, your head and gaze can follow the arm) And back to airplane pose. Now start from the beginning. And alternate, and alternate. Left toe touch =one count, right toe touch =two count. Left sky high five =three count, right sky high five =count four.... Exhale at the bend. Inhale at the airplane pose. Exhale at the high five reach. Inhale at the air plane pose. Do three sets of forty reps.
3rd- Twist. Same as above.
4th- Bicycle= Abs engaged. Back on floor. Hands on side of head. Shoulder blades off floor. Legs up and off ground. Knees at about a 45 degree angle. Right elbow to your left knee. Extend leg... Then left elbow to your right knee. Extend leg... all while keeping legs off ground (doing a pedal like motion).Elbow to the right knee =count one. Elbow to the left knee =count two. Exhale with each elbow to knee touch. Inhale on the leg extension. Do three sets of twenty reps.
5th- Twist. Same as above.
6th- Toe Touch/Sky High Five. Same as above.

Oops!
...oops, I cheated and worked out yesterday... sorry. I know we were suppose to be on break. Anywho. A few days ago, I was lying in my bed (after eating a greasy-yummy sandwich and fries:) and I ran my hand across my tummy... and wow, I realized that I was developing something under my tummy... could it be a glorious six pack? (well, a two pack so far). Maybe something glorious is happening, so you see way I was eager to work out... I didn't want to lose that... plus, I kinda missed working out. Even though it can be boring at times. (I so contradict myself) And then concentrating on my daily intake, whew. It's hard work!
Ah well, it's time to change up our work out plan. (And again postpone the detox cleanse, I just want your body to be use to a steady workout, before ya detox, ok.)

Pondering on a wonderful day...
...here I sit drinking a 20 year old Tawny Port and eating chocolate. Yes, I'm pre-gaming at my place. Well an adult form of pre-gaming...we call it an aperitif... when it's sounds fancy it takes a little away from the fact that we're drinking at home alone, before going out to drink later with friends.
Anyway, I had a good day off so far. I banged out some laundry, had an acupuncture experience, met a sweet doggie named Jackson (we must meet again, and wrestle:), ate Greek, had a great nap.... and wow... it's been an all too pleasing day off, so far.
No worries in life. Just wondering where am I going with this blog! Tomorrow, I will post our next move. Peace & Thanks for coming along...

P.S.
Happy Valentine's Day!
Love, Cheesecake Pouch.
Oh, P.P.S.
Don't start "the cleanse" today. Once again, postpone til next week (2/21/11).
Veganism was a cleanse within itself, if we do another cleanse ontop of that we will surely waste away... and we don't want that.... right?
peace.

Sad for meat.
Well, it's all over. Goodbye to the vegan challenge. It was interesting and it was a challenge:) Though I started out strong, with my fruits, my vegetable rolls, my juices, and my veggie burgers with spinach and sauteed mushrooms... Mmmmm. Eating meat or other products from animals plagued my mind. Hardcore!
Then I hit a wall on Friday, a wall of nothingness! I wasn't hungry, I just felt empty inside (because I was...) I was sad for meat. But, I wasn't sure if I was sad for the animal or sad that I wasn't eating it. I think it was a little bit of both.
On Saturday and Sunday, I didn't really think about it as much, and I continued my veganism (even after others dropped out of the challenge) in silence. I had a moment of clarity and I felt great accomplishment. I could continue on with veganism for another week if i wanted to, but I know in my heart... that's just not me. And at midnight on Sunday I had one shrimp dumpling.
peace out.

Eating like a true vegan.
Saturday when I was asked to do this vegan challenge I immediately thought of my favorite stinky cheese. And then I remembered that my friend Stella invited me to restaurant week in Jersey City the following week. Ahhh, I can't be vegan in a delicious restaurant, full of delicious goodness, I thought.
So, I declined the vegan challenge invitation.
And 10 minutes later I accepted, because... I love a good challenge (I think that's my theme for 2011.)
Ah well, I thought I would just not go to restaurant week. But no, that's a challenge within itself, just being around all of that non-vegan food. My friends picked a Japanese restaurant, easy, awesome. So I thought. Even though the menu had a few vegetarian items I still found myself gazing at the California Rolls, and the Shrimp Shumai, and the seared tuna, and the pork dumplings, and beef teriyaki, and ugh... The absolute worst part of it was my friends talking about what they were gonna get. And then when the lovely smelling feast came out they of course shared with each other, passing that goodness back and forth. And making delicious comments, that I could taste with my mind. And the ultimate worst was dessert, who gets dessert! Ice Cream, I scream, but only in my mind. But I survived. With my salad, edamame, asparagus rolls, avocado rolls, and cucumber rolls. yum. And for dessert I had a port (which was chilled, why, they better ask somebody...).
Thanks for dinning girls, when this week is over we have to all get together again... at a steakhouse!
Anyway, I'm so proud of myself! I ate like a true vegan.
peace.

Naked = Vegan
Dear blog
I am spiraling out of control. I didn't get to go vegan food shopping, so I accidentally starved myself all day, I'm too afraid to workout because veganism has made me weak... okay the latter is complete bs. But do take your workouts slow. Being a vegan is no joke, do extensive research and know what foods you need to fuel your body. Save the extreme workout for next week. (I'm not saying that you can't be vegan and do an extreme workout. I'm just saying for us vegan beginners... take it slow, I starved myself by accident, remember).
So Monday, I ate a Macrobar (this food bar is organic, vegan, and macrobiotic), I think it had dates in it... uh... yummy? Not. They have other flavors like cashew butter, chocolate crunch, banana-almond. (check previous posts for website info.)
I had H2O and then later I had a Naked fruit drink, yes Naked is vegan.
Later that night I went to *Cancun, drank Coronas and Patron, while listening and dancing Bachata (a type of music/dance originated in the DR), and speaking mucho Espanol, whew. What fun! *Oh, Cancun is a bar near me. All that on an empty stomach, I was blitzed and needed food immediately! So, of course in the theme of things we went to a Mexican restaurant. I had beans and rice :( I wanted chicken tacos :( and flautas de pollo :(
peace.

The Vegan Challenge Begins...
Okay, now Monday, Vegan Monday!
I gotta go shopping, what can I eat?
In a nutshell: No animal products or anything derived from animals, including meat, poultry, seafood, eggs, dairy products, honey (oh, honey a bee is not an animal). Beware of other animal products used as filters, dyes, casings, seasonings, coatings, etc... like bone char (used as a filter), casein (protein from milk), beeswax, gelatin, lard (pig fat), rennet (animal stomach lining), shellac (that shouldn't be in foods), whey (watery part of curdled milk), and yellow grease. Whew! Read your labels!!!
Yes to whole grains, oatmeal, bean, peanut butter, brown rice, peas, lentils, tofu, soy milk, nuts, seeds, vegan burgers, vegan hot dogs, and that's just your protein... there are also great substitution brands: Ice cream= Soy Delicious, Tofutti, Rice Dream, or fruit sorbets. Cheese= Tofutti, Follow Your Heart, or VeganRella brands. Eggs= Ener-G Egg Replacer, bananas, or applesauce. Mayonnaise= Vegenaise... whew, and remember to read the labels. There are lots a things out there that people say are vegan, but are they? There is this great debate over Oreo cookies, most say that they are vegan. But, the ingredients vary in different countries. Gosh... so tough. If you don't wanna get too complicated just stick to beans, fruits, vegetables, beans, grains, nuts, rice, beans, and did I say beans. You have to have that protein. And don't forget your vitamins (make sure they're vegan) B-12 is important. We're only doing this for a week, but you still have to be safe! We don't eat that much as it is with my crazy "Daily Food Intake Thingy" that I have you on. So scratch that for this week and eat regular meals, regular vegan meals. Oh, and most of the food bars on my list are vegan, so enjoy them before and after your workouts and as snacks throughout the day.
So, go shopping already!
P.S. for more info go to PETA.org

Sunday, Super Bowl Bloody Sunday...
So again, I skipped my WO... this is a sad, sad blog. Only if my two followers would really follow me, and leave comments, and motivate me... damn youse!
Anyway... so, this is my last day to enjoy my animals. I actually watched the last quarter of the Super Bowl, drank beer and wine, ate hot wings and a five-cheese pizza. Yum, did I say... Yum... That pizza was sooo good. And around 11:50ish I watched the clock because veganism was near and I had to be careful what I intook.
And, funny story: After I just devoured the wings and pizza... I'm sitting in the crowded bar talking to my friend and I tell him that I have this slice of cake that I brought with me, and I wanted to eat it, but it's not right because I didn't buy it there. Of course my friend instructs me to just eat it (eat it, eat it, eat it....) and I can't, even though there is a fork still on the bar. Just as I notice the fork, my friend screams and there's a fork. Shhh. He walks away from me in a drunken frustration... And now I'm frustrated. Ahhh... and time is of the essence. It's now 11:56pm, do you know where your slice of cake is? It's in a paper bag on the freakin' bar, watching me! Ahhh... so I grab the cake and run to the bathroom. I rip open the bag, open the plastic container, and where's the fork. I left it on the bar! Ah well, I pick it up with my bare hands, and raise it to my lips slowly as if I was going to gently kiss it first. Then I shoved half of it into my mouth. I then checked my watch, it was only 11:57... I could finish the other half, but I choose not to. I put it back in the container and back in the bag and in the trash. After I left the bathroom and sat back down at the bar I wondered how many people saw me run to the bathroom with the paper bag and come back out without it. With a crazy smile on my face. I sat and wondered and gazed into out-of-space. The bartender looked at me strangely and gestured for me to wipe my nose. So I did, it was a little white speck. "oh, oh no.. it's whipped cream" I said. "...from where?" She said. "Uh, uh..." Never mind.
the end.

My arms, chest, and abs are still sore from Thursdays WO !
So, the "sun salutation" and my "daily food intake" is the biggest winner this week!
Anyway, I fooled around and got myself involved in a "vegan challenge". Yes vegan!
I am going vegan for a week (so postpone "the cleanse" until 2/14/11, ooh V-day:).
You can join me on this adventure, if you would like... wait, scratch that this is my site! You will join me on this adventure, period. (I'm so bossy.)
why VEGAN? Veganism is the natural extension of vegetarianism, it's an integral component of a cruelty-free lifestyle. Living vegan provides numerous benefits to animals' lives, to the environment, and to our own health–through a healthy diet and lifestyle.
Yeah, yadda, yadda, yadda... I understand the reasonings. And it's a beautiful thing! But, we're doing it for the challenge, I believe a challenge is fun. After this week we will feel like we conquered something great. Veganism is a tough journey! Be safe.
Vegans... start your engines on Monday, February 7, 2011.
Don't eat anything with a face!
peace.

Do as I say, not as I do.
So... today, I tried to make up for some lost Workouts. I started with 50 push-ups and 80 sit-up variations. Ouch! I walked for my Cardio... I'm getting bored.
And I had salmon for dinner... yawn...
yawn.

What happened to Wednesday...
Who told me to go for a three+ hours walk with an icy mess outside?
Well I survived...
Well that was Tuesday, great Cardio, but I didn't do my ABalicious Wo :(
And my DFI... well, I started out good with a food bar and then later a peanut butter-banana smoothie, and then I had a burger with blue cheese and fries and sauvignon blanc... and amstel light and amstel light and amstel light... and then at 3am I had a couple of chicken wings and a slice of pizza and gatorade and a beef patty and a corn dog and ha, ha, ha... is this real life? Who eats like this? No wonder the six-pack is so far away...
And Wednesday? I had sleep for my WO and I did something that you must never do! I skipped two meals. Ahhhh. But, for dinner I had Mahi-mahi, brussel sprouts, broccoli rabe, cauliflower... and washed it do with green tea and H2O. And a bad day came to a good end :)
Thursday will be grand!
peace.

...continued.
...And my night was cookie, green tea, B.L.T (bad girl), half water-half Sierra Mist (still bad), and scotch (what!), and scotch, and beer, and beer, and beer (someone had a bad day at work)
So after, you can imagine my morning of nothingness. Hungover! Skipped everything... WO, food bars, blah... And when I finally had the energy I ate an apple. And many hours later, I ordered Japanese food. Yummy. Miso Soup, Bento Box B as in Boy with Grilled Salmon & etc., Edamame, Salad, a Spicy Shrimp Roll (which they screwed up and game me spicy salmon tartar and I didn't eat it, what a waste), and I washed it down with gatorade.
Well, that was yesterday, and it's behind us, no it's literally behind us :)
And we move on. Today I will salute the sun, shower, and then go for a 3 hour walk!
Walking is one of the best exercises you can do. While walking your feet are grounded to the earth and you pick up the earth's magnetic energy, and that energy flows through your body, and energizes your cells. Also while your walking, when you gaze out at far away distances it increases the electromagnetic energy in your body. This makes your body more alkaline and less susceptible to disease. This statement is not approved by the FDA, of course :)
The long walk is also good to clean your mind and calm your soul.
*When a friend or loved one needs to walk for that long, pay attention. Something may be wrong, maybe not something life threating, but something that may make you want to inquire. When they get back from that walk... Say, "hey, is everything okay", "did you figure out your worries", "is there anything I can do", "would you like to talk it out..." *Though walking alone and trying to get your worries or wonders straight, in your head... is all good. Talking it out is a good thing also!
Okay, I'm Chatty Cathy today...
Goodbye.
